What are PG and VG, and why are they in e-liquid?
PG (propylene glycol) is a water soluble, sterile compound that acts as a carrier for flavorings and nicotine, and has been approved by the FDA for human consumption since the late 1970’s. It is also used in things like medical inhalers and as a suspension for IV medications. Most of the PG in Bomb Sauce comes from the flavorings and the nicotine dilution in the juice, both of which are manufactured suspended in PG.
VG (vegetable glycerin), generally made from palm oil, is a somewhat viscous clear liquid with a slightly sugary taste. VG has also been approved for human inhalation by the FDA. Bomb Sauce is 70% VG, as VG is what generally produces more vapor and carries flavor better than PG.
